Christmas 2008

Griffin got a red rider inch worm from Grandma Sherry. He had fun scooting across the floor.

Santa brought Griffin a space train set. It glows in the dark, not that he cares.
When I first got Griffin out of bed I told him that Santa came. He looked at me and said "where is he". He was very disappointed when we went out to the living room and Santa was not there. I had to explain that Santa had to visit everyone so he couldn't stay but he left some toys for him. It didn't take him long to warm up to that idea.Santa also left this really cool helicopter. Griffin has been hauling it all over the house.
My mom got Joe a remote control car. Griffin and him played with it for awhile on Christmas day. Griffin loved chasing it around. There is an airplane that goes on top of the car and then shoots off. I think Griffin got a hold of it and broke some of the wings, but it still flies so now we just need to make sure to keep it up, or else it will get dissected.
LJ had a FANTASTIC Christmas. He told me. My mom, Heather, Nate, Joe, and I all chipped in and got him an X-Box. He thought that was pretty cool and he wasn't expecting it. He is also wearing a new jacket he got from mom. He said it is definitely a winter jacket b/c it keeps him so warm. Dad and Julie got him a quesadilla maker. LJ said it works really good!

And here is me post surgery. I had a good Christmas. My mom, Heather, Nate, and Joe all chipped in and got me a Cricut!! I was very excited. I haven't hooked it up yet but Joe said he would help me once he gets to feeling better.

A Thanksgiving hair cut

I am behind with my blogging, but you know its been a busy four weeks!

For Thanksgiving we were able to go spend some time with Heather and Nate. Joe left the day after Thanksgiving to attend his sister, Susan's, wedding.

We had lots of fun and Aunt Heather gave Griffin another one of her five star hair cuts! Griffin was happy at first but then he got kind of grumpy.

This is Nate and Heather's do g Tank, oh and he is Griffin's best friend. Tank was a little annoyed because Griffin wasn't able to chase him around and feed him paper.

Tank was so nice to Griffin. They made a super huge mess with the Thanksgiving paper, but they had so much fun. I am sure Tank is real lonely without Griffin around. Griffin still talks about Tank.

Happy 2nd Birthday Griffin

Grandma Sherry got Griffin this wonderful Lighting McQueen tent for his birthday. She gave us permission to set it up one day early. Griffin absolutely loves it!

He is running in and out of it squealing with delight. We will need to set up his cars in there so he can have his own little play space.

A big THANK YOU to his Grandma Sherry!!!

P.S. excuse all the boxes and flipped over chairs in the background. Remember we just moved *wink*

Pictures

I am finally getting around to posting some pictures of our trip to Spokane. I've got some more of Joe's family but will save them for tomorrow's post.

Aren't the leaves so beautiful! Fall is my favorite season I love all the colors, and the cool crisp air!

More November Reflections..

I've got some sort of stomach virus so I haven't been very good at updating my daily November reflections...

11/12/2008~ I am grateful for my friends. Since I have moved to Billings I have made some very close friends. I enjoy being able to spend time with them, and talk with them about "girl" things. Girl friends can always understand you when your husband's don't, and they can help you understand your husband when you don't want to!

11/13/2008~ I am grateful we finally were able to come to an agreement with the potential buyers of our home! Today we signed the final agreement to buy/sale, no more counter offers! YES that is right, blog friends, we are moving! We have to be out of our house by December 1, 2008! Of course, this is assuming everything goes through, don't want to get to excited, because I know plenty of people have had deals fall through at the last second.

Actually by Thanksgivings because we are planning on going to see Heather and Nate, and then down to Utah for Susan's wedding, keep your fingers crossed we get everything done on time!!!

Anyways, I am grateful we have sold our house and now we will begin a new chapter in our life. I have very mixed feelings about leaving our house. We have a lot of memories here and I feel like I am leaving something major behind, but I am also excited to move on.

We are not sure if we are going to build again, or buy a house, or even if we will be staying in Billings. We are planning on renting for six months or more, until we have decided what we want to do.

So for the next few days we are going to be busy packing, and trying to find a place to live. Will keep you all updated!!

More November Reflections...

11/9/2008~ I am grateful for time to spend with my family. Sunday's are always great for spending time with family. Today we went to Stake Conference, and Joe and I had to switch off with Griffin duties so I am not sure how much we absorbed, but I am grateful we went and that we were able to spend the whole afternoon together just "hanging out".

11/10/2008~ I am grateful for my husband. I was really sick today and was so anxious to get home so I could rest. Well, you don't get must rest with Griffin around. When Joe got home around 6 I was so grateful he took over the parenting duties so I could get some real rest.

11/11/2008~ Today is Veteran's Day and who isn't grateful for our Veteran's! I am grateful for the many sacrifices our country and service men and woman have made so we all can enjoy our freedom.

November reflections...

Each day I challenge you to write down something you are thankful for until November 27th (Thanksgiving Day). Think deep, beyond your everyday blessings...this doesn't have to be too serious either. What are some things you are grateful for?

Obviously, I am a little late getting this started so this post will be a bit longer.

11/1/2008~ I am thankful Joe and I were able to take a break from our daily lives and go and visit our families that live in the Pacific Northwest.

11/2/2008~ I am thankful for things that smell good. For example the rain, evergreen trees, flowers, perfumes, good food.

11/3/2008~ I am thankful for my camera because it allows me to capture my memories.

11/4/2008~ I am thankful for our election process. Even though it can get annoying, and the guy we wanted didn't win, I am thankful we had the opportunity to vote and that our nation will have a smooth transition of powers.

11/5/2008~ I am thankful for my washer and dryer. I can't even imagine having to wash clothes by hand. My hand washables get tossed in the washer of course on the hand wash cycle! It would take a lot of time if I had to wash everyone's clothes by hand.

11/6/2008~ I am thankful for television. I know kind of weird because I don't like to spend my time watching it, but I am thankful b/c it keeps me entertained while I am exercising, and it keeps me informed of the world around me.

11/7/2008~ I am thankful Griffin loves to brush his teeth. Every night before he goes to bed he says "teeth" and points to his bathroom. I just am grateful I don't have to struggle to get the tooth brush in, he loves it and hardly ever goes to be without getting a good brushing!
