Chicken Noodle Cheese Slop
Every day it seems like it is such a struggle to come with an idea for dinner. We all seem to have our favorite standby's, but after awhile even they get old. Well tonight I whipped up this thing...I know in the picture it doesn't look very appetizing but let me tell ya it was good! Griffin ate almost a whole toddler sizer portion!I am not sure if this has a name, but I am calling it Chicken Noodle Cheese slop?
The recipe is as follows:
3 lbs chicken breast
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup
8-oz Velveeta cheese ( I know scary I've only used Velveeta one other time in my life and it was for a dip!)
2-4 chopped Roma tomatoes
mushrooms
1-small onion chopped
1 package of spaghetti (I use whole wheat pasta. It is better for you, but do as you wish)
*3-4 garlic cloves this is optional we use garlic in everything
Okay so this is real easy peasy you just dice up your chicken or if you prefer cook it up and then shred it. Cook your chicken.
While your chicken is cooking get the pasta cooking.
Chop up onions, tomatoes, garlic. I use a garlic crusher and then soak it in a little olive oil.
Add the onions to your chicken and saute a bit.
After the pasta is done cooking drain it and prepare it however you would like. I infused ours with garlic. Then add it to a bowl and add the cans of soup. Then toss around till all the pasta is coated. Then add the pasta to the meat, and onions which should be warm on the stove. Toss around. Then add in the Velveta. This takes awhile to melt so I just let it sit for a few minutes and the mixed it up real good. Add the tomatoes any salt and pepper make sure everything is heated through and then you are ready to serve!
If you use this recipe let me know what you think?
*I need to add this makes a lot. I think you could serve about 8!

Sleep Deprivation
This past weekend Joe, LJ, Griffin, and I went on a trip to the cannery. We brought the truck and trailer and canned food for our ward with two other sisters.LJ and Joe canned food the first night and the next morning, then Joe, my mom and I canned in the afternoon.
It was fun canning and getting to see my mom. However, Griffin did not sleep at all. Well he slept from 9pm-1:30am and then he was up. Since we were in a hotel I couldn't just let him cry. I tried rocking him, putting him in bed with me, walking around outside, warm milk, singing...everything I could think of. He just wouldn't go to sleep. So I was 2/3 asleep and 1/3 awake for the whole trip.
I walked all over the hotel in my pineapple bottom pjs and ratty old college t-shirt. The night manager felt bad for me but what was he going to do...he was busy checking people in and out and dealing with the drunk drag queens. The drag queens actually looked like women but then again it was 2:30 am and I was running so low on sleep of course they looked good. When I saw them the next morning in their full fledged man suits I thought I was dreaming because I could have sworn they were women. I only recognized them by the wigs they were so carefully carrying out to their car. They were at least friendly and did provide me with some entertainment.
Griffin and I enjoyed talking about the moon and the stars. We even watched Fox news. I still haven't figured out why he didn't sleep but I did learn I am not going on any more trips with him until I figure out how to solve the sleep problem.
It is now two days post trip and I think I am caught up on sleep. Now I've got laundry, food shopping, and unpacking to do. Oh and I've got to find my swim suit bottoms. I saw them before the trip and thought I packed them but they weren't in my suitcase...

Eviction Notices Served

This is Stella the spider. She is one of our tenants. We have just served her with an eviction notice...and thus she is is looking for a new home.
Qualities: Very quiet, will eat all the moths, gnats, lady bugs, or any insect that wonders into her room.
Cons: Very scary looking, makes a huge ugly nest and doesn't clean up after she eats. Has a tendancy to show up when you aren't wanting any company.
Please contact her directly if you have room for her at your place. Oh you are wondering how to contact her...well I am sure if you just step outside your home you will run into a few of her relatives, they know her direct line!

Stella isn't quite your type, don't worry we've got another tenant we would love for you to meet!
Meet the "Hornets". They have a very large family and are currently expecting about 59 more buzzing bundles of joy.
They tend to mind their own "bizzness" until you come outside with a cold beverage, or any type of food. Because their family is so large there is always someone coming and going. Their flight patters are quite hectic and they do not respect any no fly zones you may already have in place.
When they get angry, and this happens a lot, they will just fly right up to and give you a sting.

Oh and we decided they could not stay. Their home however is for sale!

Backyard Balloons
These photo's were actually taken a couple weeks ago but I haven't had time to crop and upload!Early one Saturday morning we woke up to find the sky filled with hot air balloons. Griffin loved it! We were lucky enough to have one land in our neighborhood, practically right out the back door!
This particular balloon reminds me of the Wizard of Oz, actually any hot air balloon does. Anyone want to hitch a ride to the Emerald City?

Happy Birthdays are in order!

While Grandma was here we celebrated her 50th birthday. She got these beautiful roses as a gift from my Dad's parents.
They smelled so good and made my kitchen look wonderful!

Joe also celebrated his birthday this month! He turned 33, as you can tell by the candles on his cake!
Joe doesn't like to celebrate birthdays, except for Griffin's, but I felt we still needed to do a little something for him.
Griffin had such a fun time and he has learned to sing Happy Birthday! I've caught him singing it to himself several times! He really does enjoy singing!
Griffin was a little upset when there were no more flames. He calmed down once he got some cake!
Happy Birthday Joe and Mom!
We had a wonderful July 2008! My mom came to visit for three weeks and Griffin had so much fun with his "Ma"! We are looking forward to visiting with her again this fall!
